Second graders continue to use ipad apps like Spelling City, RAZ Kids, Xtramath, and Front Row. The iPads are also being utilized throughout the students' comprehensive Dinosaur unit. Students are researching dinosaurs, as well as viewing videos, images, and articles. The iPads have become an invaluable tool in second grade classrooms.
Fourth graders are working hard on Folklorama research, using both iPads and the computer lab. With that research, students are now creating unique presentations about their country using Google Slides. These presentations are connected to their Folklorama webpage. Students also used PhotoShop to create images showing themselves in a foreign country.
First graders are using technology in all subject areas.
Pre-First graders continue to utilize iPads in the classroom in multiple subject areas. Some examples:
Third graders are using Class Dojo in a brand new way. Through videos and discussions, students are working on developing a “growth mindset." In 1978, Stanford psychologist Carol Dweck made a profound discovery: children who believed their intelligence could grow did better in school, and better in life. She called this basic belief about intelligence “mindset.”
