In technology, 4th grade focused on what a Search Engine is, how we use keywords to help us be specific and how to know if a source is reliable. They also applied the C.A.R.P. test to find great resources for their initial Folklorama research.
4th grade is using the iPads to monitor student behavior using the ClassDojo app. We are also using the iPads during our Words Their Way cycles and small group instruction during math lessons.

In Technology class, the 2nd grade students created their own eBook in Google Slides. The students created a “scary story” through the Being a Writer program in their classrooms then typed and illustrated their work in the Technology Lab. Students used the Spelling City app on the I-Pads once a week to do word work. This app allows students to practice their spelling words, which are at their level from the “Words Their Way” program.

Pre-First has introduced the iPads during Daily Five rotations. Students use the Raz-Kids app for the “Listen to Reading” center once a week. This app allows students to listen to books at their own specific reading levels being read to them as they follow along with the print. Students can also record themselves reading the book on the iPads, and complete comprehension quizzes about the stories they read.
