Nursery
In N2 we have been talking about making choices and how they affect your behavior. We used the App 3D Brain to study the human brain. We talked about how each part of our brain is in charge of carrying out a different function and we showed the students how the App allows us to rotate the brain’s image on the iPad allowing us to better understand parts of our body we cannot see.
N4 students had a special visitor in the classroom, Lorenza’s father came to show us a new App he collaborated creating! He explained how by scanning the sticker, a Halloween character would pop up! They tried by putting it on their faces and hands. We also used our reflector App to see it on our classroom’s screen.

Children in PK5 read a book and then watched the book read by the author or illustrator. We use Bookflix or the authors’ YouTube channel to find the same book we are reading in class.

Children in K6 have been taking photographs and then creating and recording stories on the iPad to go with the photographs.
Coding Class #3
In the last session students learned how to make the Bee-Bot make a turn. We asked the students how could we give the Bee-Bot the instructions to make a turn to the left or right and once it turned make it keep moving forward. A student said “I know how!” and he asked the teacher for a turn:

Students easily understood how to make the Boo-Bot turn. In the first attempt, some students were confused in pressing the LEFT/RIGHT button the amount of times that you want it to move forward, but after some practice they all understood that you only press the LEFT/RIGHT button once and then you press the FORWARD so it keeps walking forward in that direction.

Children in PK-K 3 explored a projected image using our classroom projector. The experience provoked storytelling and imaginative play. It was also used as a form of assessment (animal habitats), as the children chose which animals to play with from a large basket of animals.

In PK-K8 we’ve been inspired by Mo Willems' stories. We've read Knuffle Bunny, Knuffle Bunny Too, and Knuffle Bunny Free. This author has a very unique way of illustrating his books. He takes photographs of the real world and then adds drawings of his characters to the photos. We decided to make stories in a Mo Willems style. First, we walked through the school finding settings that we could photograph. We printed these photos in black and white. Next, our students illustrated characters, which they cut out and pasted on their favorite setting.
Here’s an example of one of the stories:
“We were dressing princesses and my friend, Renata, her costume was about a princess who was coming down from the stairs. El disfraz está pegado a la escalera. El disfraz es de tela. And mine was about a princess who always liked brushing her hair. We went to the cafeteria. I was eating sushi and Renata was eating nuggets.” By Alice

One of our students went to Manzanillo and visited the volcano there. When she returned she was so excited by the experience, she studied and made a volcano at home with her mother. She brought in the volcano and told us about her experience. A classmate asked, “Are volcanoes real?” We began a group discussion on the subject. Since I could not provide hands-on experience for the children, we used the internet to investigate some of our questions about volcanoes. We visited YouTube and watched some interesting videos. One of our favorites was this one:
