For this winter season, N2 students studied ice and snow animals.
N2 students had a lot of fun while using technology to watch their own creations come alive in the form of an e-book. This video was shared with the parents through the classroom website.
Pre Kinder 5 has recently discovered the magic of speech bubbles. They have become fascinated with the idea that a simple bubble can represent speech and allow a reader to understand what a character is thinking or saying.
This month while using the Smartboard, students created characters and gave them speech bubbles. Some students used their speech bubbles to describe emotions, to simply state their name, or relay a message. Finally, the products were shared with the rest of the class.

Children in K6 have being working on writing their own stories at the writing center. Some children began adding audio recordings and videos to their stories. These children were proud to show their friends their work and after hearing their friends’ stories, many other children became motivated to record their own work. We have shared some of these productions with parents.
Students in PK-K 11 made electronic holiday cards for their parents. Children were asked to record a holiday message on the classroom camera. When uploaded and transferred to iMovie, each child picked his/her theme from the templates provided. The children learned about editing, as they reviewed their video recording and helped determine which errors they wanted to cut, if the audio needed to be increased, whether to use Ken Burn’s effect or not, and determine how many seconds each still image would be shown.
