Poetry Outloud is an annual celebration of poetry and the spoken word. Each high school student chose a poem with which they felt a connection, memorized it and performed it to their class. The judges used a Google Form to assess each student on the same criteria: physical presence, voice articulation, dramatic appropriateness, evidence of understanding, and overall performance. The difficulty of the poem and the student's accuracy were also considered. In order for students to learn the results of their performance quickly, the spreadsheet associated with the form automatically calculated the scores. Congratulations to the finalists, teachers and judges who participated in the final round of competition in the auditorium.

So proud of these students, their teachers and this great program. I saw some of the qualifying rounds and was blown away by many of the recitals. Great work and effective use of technology as an assessment tool.
